Optic Illusion is Now Available
Optic Illusion — classic illusions, built and explained — is now on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
It gathers 72 optical illusions into a small museum of visual perception — 33 interactive, 14 animated — and every one comes with a direct explanation of what your eyes and brain are doing to cause the effect. Written for curious humans.
A few of the exhibits:
- Rotating Snakes — a completely still image that drifts in your periphery
- Adelson's checker shadow — two identical grays that refuse to match
- a spiral that turns out to be circles
- a black-and-white disc that spins up colors
- the Penrose Triangle — three beams meeting at a triangle, but then the view turns and you see them perpendicular and not meeting at all.
